Thank You Superyacht Charities!

14 June 2018

The Superyacht Ball hosted by the Superyacht Charities was created by longstanding Sail 4 Cancer supporters Derek Munro, Ken Hickling, Vanessa Hodgson, David Goldie and Kerry Pettitt to support our work for families wishing to have a last family holiday together. Now in its fourth year the Ball again raised a record amount for the selected charities at the Hilton Hotel at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton.

The Ball is the major industry event in the UK for those working and servicing the superyacht industry and was sold out within minutes. This year a record number of guests attended and luxury auction and raffle items were donated by supporters and sponsors who have been enthusiastic supporters of the event from the first event in 2015.

24 Hours Liferaft Challenge 2013

Sail 4 Cancer’s partnership with the superyacht industry goes back to 2013 when the first group agreed to spend 24 hours in a liferaft to raise funds for our work. The event raised an astonishing amount for the charity.

In 2014 they took on the Yachtie Bike Hike through the New Forest for Sail 4 Cancer and since then the industry has been steadfast supporters enabling us to help a large group of families to have a break from cancer.

The annual Superyacht Ball is now our biggest source of income for our Last Family Holiday project and we are incredibly grateful for their support.
