Rolex Fastnet 2021

18 May 2020

Frequently referred to as the ‘Everest’ of the sailing world, the Rolex Fastnet race is one of the toughest offshore yachting races in the world. The race is organised every two years by the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC).

Organised every two years by the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) and first contested in 1925, it is still one of the trickiest and most demanding sporting events that an individual or a team can aspire to today.

Taking place in August, the race is often provided with Westerlies that are strong to gale force in strength. The succession of low pressure systems which advance on the British Isles across the North Atlantic Ocean provide a constantly moving weather pattern which challenges even the most experienced of sailors.

Make a difference

As the ‘Everest’ of the UK sailing calendar, many skippers and crews choose to raise sponsorship funds for their chosen charity when competing in the race.
