This annual transatlantic rally starting in November from Las Palmas in the Canaries and finishing in St. Lucia, West Indies is the largest trans-ocean event in the world and in recent years has attracted over 200 yachts from all over the globe. The most eclectic mix of sailors converges on Las Palmas in the Canary Islands for a two week build up to the start of the race. The marina is filled with boats of all shapes and sizes flying their countries’ flags and creating an incredible atmosphere.

25th Anniversary

ARC 2010 promises to be exceptional as it is the 25th anniversary of the event. To mark this event, the World Cruising Club (the event organisers) is planning an enhanced programme of events in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia, the start and finish ports of the rally. Managing Director of World Cruising Club, Andrew Bishop, says, “In its 25 year history, the ARC has become the “must-do” event on the cruising calendar, however interest in the ARC 2010 has been truly astonishing and we have already welcomed our 200th entry.”
