Over 2000 Miles In A Bathtub?

29 October 2012

In roughly three weeks time Ed Nicholls and friends, Becky, Sam & Gibbo, will be sailing from Vassiliki, Greece, to the UK on a small 28ft yacht.

Read about this epic voyage in Ed’s own words:

“We are planning to sail from Vassiliki, Greece to Bournemouth or Poole back in the UK on a very ‘cosy’ 28ft yacht.

The four of us have been working at Wildwind, Vassiliki or Neilson holidays, Nidri this year. Becky Law, the new owner of the yacht, has been working most of the year as a first mate and trainer with Neilson. One of Becky’s friends from the UK, Sam Nicholls, has spent the summer on the beach at Wildwind as an instructor and has planned our escape route home. Winch monkey’s and cabin boys: Ed Nicholl’s and James ‘Gibbo’ Gibson who have also been instructing at wildwind this year make up the rest of the crew.

Our motley crew of four plan to set sail around the 15th of November on a roughly two month long trip rounding Italy and along the south coast of France before crossing the entirety of France on canals and rivers and popping out at Le Havre on the north coast before the final crossing home. You can see our planned route here!

Please support Sail 4 Cancer by donating to this cause, or if you’re anywhere in Italy or France feel free to buy us a pint. We will have a blog set up soon if you would like to follow our progress so watch this page for a link.”

Good luck Ed, Becky, Sam and Gibbo!  Thank you very much for your support!
