Volunteer Programme
Our Volunteer Programme was formally launched on 29 October 2002
and will play a key role in ensuring that the charity grows to meet
its targets for the next 2-3 years. Volunteers are asked to give
a minimum of one weekend, plus one or two week days of their time
per year.
Being a volunteer is one of the many ways you can support Sail
4 Cancer. You may want to offer your professional expertise in helping
us manage the administrative elements of the Charity. Activities
with which volunteers are already engaged include: website design,
photography services, crewing tall ships, distributing leaflets
at events, manning stands at trade shows and collecting donations.
Volunteers are seen as one of Sail 4 Cancer's greatest assets.
Your time is invaluable to us. There are lots of reasons for getting
involved as a volunteer. Not only does your involvement help Sail
4 Cancer but there are lots of benefits for you personally as well.
Voluntary work can help you to:
- Share an interest or hobby
- Use your free time in a positive and enjoyable way
- Add to your CV
- Learn new skills and put your existing skills to good use
- Become involved in something worthwhile
- Gain confidence and self esteem
- Meet new people and make friends
- Make a difference
