Sail 4 Cancer - About Us

Set up by a team of sailing enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Sail 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of water based days out and short-breaks for families affected by cancer.

We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of sport (e.g. sailing) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.

Frequently referred to as the 'Everest' of the sailing world, the Rolex Fastnet race is one of the toughest offshore yachting races in the world. The race is organised every two years by the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC).

Taking place in August, the race is often provided with Westerlies that are strong to gale force in strength. The succession of low pressure systems which advance on the British Isles across the North Atlantic Ocean provide a constantly moving weather pattern which challenges even the most experienced of sailors.

Make a difference

As the 'Everest' of the UK sailing calendar, many skippers and crews choose to raise sponsorship funds for their chosen charity when competing in the race. We would be delighted if you would consider supporting Sail 4 Cancer. We will supply you with a flag in addition to setting up a secure online fundraising page for you on www.sail4cancer.org

Free sailing kit as a thank youl

To thank you for supporting Sail 4 Cancer you will get specialist kit vouchers to spend in store or online. Raise £500 (excluding Gift Aid) and receive a £150 voucher, raise £1000 and receive a £300 voucher!
