Isle of Wight Marathon: 14 Oct 2018

Run 4 Cancer - About Us

Set up by a team of running enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Run 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.

We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.

Isle of Wight Marathon 2018

Having first taken place in 1957, the Isle of Wight Marathon celebrated it’s 60th Anniversary in 2016. It is now one of the longest running marathons in England.

In 2018, this much loved British marathon will move into the next decade with great expectations for the future.

Given the importance of Cowes to the UK sailing community, why not join the Sail 4 Cancer team and see the delights of the Isle of Wight from terra firma for once!

Isle of Wight Marathon Course Profile

The race starts and ends at Park Road in Cowes. A brand new course (first used in 2013) sees one lap featuring the much quieter roads on the West of the island. These are the undulating town and rural roads through Cowes, Gurnard, Rew Street, Porchfield, Shalfleet, Yarmouth, Afton, Willmingham, Thorley, Wellow, Shalfleet, Porchfield, Northwood and Cowes. There are marker boards at each mile point. Sorry but the course is not suitable for wheelchairs.
