Sail 4 Cancer - About Us

Set up by a team of sailing enthusiasts in 2001, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Sail 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of water based days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.

We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of sport (e.g. sailing) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.

Antoine Magre is taking on the Rolex Fastnet 2017 whilst raising funds for Sail 4 Cancer. Here he explains why:

“We are a team of student sailors from the University of Cambridge and we will be competing in Class40 on the Fastnet race this summer. Completing this race will be a big achievement for all of us, but we feel confident enough to also be competitive for a Top3 in the Vintage boats ranking of the class (older generation Class40s). We also wanted to extend our challenge to helping others that struggle with cancer, so that our Fastnet campaign can make life easier for patients and their families. We are very thankful for your generosity and your support, and make sure to follow Palanad II (FRA 43)'s ranking on the race tracker!”

Thank you
