Set up by a team of sailing enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Sail 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.
We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of sport (e.g. sailing) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
Taking place in August, the race is often provided with Westerlies that are strong to gale force in strength. The succession of low pressure systems which advance on the British Isles across the North Atlantic Ocean provide a constantly moving weather pattern which challenges even the most experienced of sailors.
As the 'Everest' of the UK sailing calendar, many skippers and crews choose to raise sponsorship funds for their chosen charity when competing in the race. We would be delighted if you would consider supporting Sail 4 Cancer. We will supply you with a flag and boat decals in addition to setting up a secure online fundraising page for you on www.sail4cancer.org
To thank you for supporting Sail 4 Cancer, Henri Lloyd and Gill are offering Sail 4 Cancer fundraisers specialist kit vouchers for 2015. Raise £500 (excluding Gift Aid) and receive a £150 Henri Lloyd or Gill voucher, raise £1000 and receive a £300 Henri Lloyd or Gill voucher! Vouchers can be used online or in store.
