New Neilson Resort raises record funds

Club Teos, the latest addition to Neilson's Turkish resorts, showed what they were made of last week when the Teos Team led by Jake (beach) and Pete (tennis) decided to host a charity evening in the style on Ant and Decs 'Takeaway'.

The evening ended in an auction where a number of private lessons were put up to the highest bidder. A number of staff also offered themselves up as 'slaves' for the night. First under the 'hammer was Oli (beach) who raised an impressive £60. Then as the guests and staff got into the swing of it they soon saw slaves, private lessons and sailing sessions changing hands for up to £300. Some notable bids were Jonny's bid for Tash (tennis) where he spent his 19th birthday money from his grandma on having Tash serve as their slave for the evening! Pip (Overseas Director at Neilson) was out on his family holidays, and an SB3 sail with him raised a few hundred quid too. 'Slave Dave' (SB3's) was also a good earner and worked a number of his lunch breaks offering private lessons.

The night was not only great fun but raised awareness of this important charity and Neilson's support of it as well as raising around £2,000. This money will be used to fund respite holidays for families living with cancer. Families like Amanda's, who went away earlier this summer. On her return Amanda wrote to Sail 4 Cancer and Neilson, explaining what a huge help the break had been for her and her family in their long journey to reclaiming their lives. She finished her letter, "We are all eternally grateful as you have given us the ability to laugh again, which is a wonderful gift.”
