The John Bloodworth Fund has been launched to help send more cancer patients and their families on respite breaks.
The John Bloodworth Fund was created by Cruise118 and Sail 4 Cancer to celebrate the life of an extraordinary person and business man who contributed more than 30 year to the travel industry. The Fund will give families affected by cancer the opportunity to go on respite breaks and have time together away from this cruel disease.

John passed away on the 12th October 2011, aged 62, after a long struggle with cancer. Typical John his last communication, just a few hours before he died was a selfless note, telling his family and friends to 'Have a great party'.
James Cole, Director of WTH (UK) Ltd remarks: "John was instrumental not just in helping us set the strategy for Cruise118 and helping us implement it, but also in shaping me as a business person from the moment I met him in January 2004 right through until a few days before he passed away. Always humble in his approach, always helping you become a better person, always there for you, always cutting through complexity and making things clear. He will be sadly missed."
Colleagues and friends will attend an event to remember John on 11 November 2011 in the UK and a similar event will take place on 13 November in Florida.

Tim Marsden, ex-Group Marketing Director of MyTravel remembers:" In the last 20+ years I've never worked with anyone as dedicated and loyal as JB. Always working tirelessly and selflessly for the business and never shying away from making difficult decisions but always making them with a huge slice of humanity. JB could inspire and motivate hundreds of people at once, but also took the time to coach and advise on a personal 1:1 level. He always somehow found the time and energy to check that everything was OK with you and your family - even down to our last e-mail contact when John had heard his cancer was back, it wasn't about him, it was making sure I looked after and had fun with my family. Just genuinely a great man - sorely missed."
Annual events will be hosted to raise funds for the Fund and colleagues and friends are encouraged to raise funds through events, challenges and direct donations. The John Bloodworth Fund will provide respite opportunities for families affected by cancer on an ongoing basis. The more funds raised, the more families will have the opportunity to get away from cancer for a while. The Fund will also provide respite breaks for families who have recently lost someone to the disease.
Friends, family members and colleagues of John can contribute to the Fund by donating through the Sail 4 Cancer website or texting SAIL04 and the amount to 70070 e.g. SAIL04 £5.
