Stu Bowker runs the Hastings Half

It's that time of year again: keen runner and staunch Sail 4 Cancer supporter Stu Bowker has chosen this year to run the Hastings Half Marathon again at the end of March. Since his last half marathon Stu has taken part in the UK Backwards Running Championships, UK Rock, Paper, Scissors Championships and the World Crazy Golf Championships. He claims it keeps him out of trouble!

The Hastings Half Marathon is organised by The Hastings Lions Club to "raise monies for needy causes, and to promote the Historic and Wonderful town of Hastings." The course circumnavigates the Ancient Town of Hastings, starting at the Seafront and following the route of William the Conqueror towards Battle, round the back of the Town and down to the Famous 'Old Town' and fishing Village of Hastings, then comes back along the three mile Seafront back to where it started.

Stu is keen to raise as much money as possible for Sail 4 Cancer again this year and explains, "This time the cause is a bit closer to home. My girlfriend's uncle recently passed away because of lung cancer. The charity tried to organise a trip for him and his wife but it was too late. I'll be running in his honour and her granddad who also recently passed away with pneumonia."
