Legal & General Corporate Account Manager Sandy Guest is taking on the single handed Azores and Back race in aid of Shooting Star Chase hospice and Sail 4 Cancer.

4th Place in IRC2 so far!

Sandy has had big ocean racing in his blood since he was a young boy, however this is his biggest race challenge yet. His yacht Slippery K is a Sigma 36 with pedigree in Fastnet races in the late 80's and has been thoroughly prepared for extreme ocean racing.

Starting on Saturday 4th June, the Azab is a serious Ocean race that covers some 2,500 miles of ocean, approximately 1220 miles on each leg. The majority of yachts usually take between 7 and 10 days to reach the AZORES allowing a week or so to relax, make repairs and restock for the return passage.

Sandy says "The two charities I would like you to support are Shooting star CHASE and Sail 4 Cancer. Both organisations are run by extraordinary people doing an extraordinary job. Shooting Star Chase is a Childrens Hospice, supporting local families with a child or teenager not expected to reach their 19th Birthday. A child's time may be limited but their life needn't be. Please really make an effort to sponsor these fantastic causes, there but by the grace of God those people they are helping could have been you and me."

The monies raised by Sandy will be split 70% Shooting Stars Children's Hospice and 30% Sail 4 Cancer, both will benefit local families in very difficult circumstances.
