Sail 4 Cancer are set to take a crew of people living with cancer to participate in a competitive sailing regatta to experience at first hand the thrills and exhilaration of competitive sailing. Participants will spend some time learning the ropes and getting to grips with their boat, before competing in several races. Whilst the experience is not as relaxing as our Solent Day Sails, and adrenaline will no doubt be pumping during the racing, participants will still be in the very safe hands of a professional crew.

(Suitable for those aged 18 years and above. No sailing experience necessary.)
There is no charge for participating in this activity, though due to the early start on the day you may prefer to have overnight accommodation the night before; the cost for this cannot be covered by Sail 4 Cancer.
Date: Thursday 12th July 2012
"This adventure day had a real feel good factor, all you needed to do was see the smiles on the faces of the team; it was clear that this respite allowed them to take a day off from the problems of managing life with cancer." John
"For a period of time after my cancer treatment I began to wonder whether I would ever get the old 'me' back. I felt tired; old and had lost a lot of my self-confidence.On 7th July 2011 I truly found myself again, very much alive and giggling on board a beautiful yacht in the Solent." Debbie
"Sail 4 Cancer gives you the opportunity to leave everything shoreside & get as involved as you like with the sailing. Great experience & great fun. Thank you." Emma
