Kate Carter
Operations Manager

With a background in organisational management, Kate manages the day-to-day operations of the charity. Her areas of responsibility include Finance, CRM and Operations. Kate manages the key functions which enable us to help 500 people affected by cancer every year.

Cathy Jenkins
Family Liaison

Cathy is responsible for ensuring that families living with cancer are able to book and, most importantly, enjoy their time/holidays on the water. Before joining Sail 4 Cancer, Cathy enjoyed a successful marketing career working for Thorn EMI and global manufacturer 3M, prior to having a family.

Pippa Ashton
Family Liaison

Pippa works with Cathy to book respite breaks for families and individuals living with cancer. She also ensures that the beneficiary database is kept up-to-date. Before having a break from the workplace to bring up her son, Pippa worked for City law firm Norton Rose and pharmaceutical company Reckitt Benckiser.

Julie Colquhoun

Julie works for Sail 4 Cancer as part time financial and office administrator. Before having a career break to start a family, Julie worked for several financial institutions in London including Peugeot Finance.

Lizette van Niekerk
Fundraising Manager

Lizette is responsible for fundraising for Sail 4 Cancer and is also a Visiting Lecturer with St Mary's University College, specialising in charity marketing and fundraising. She worked for a number of charities in marketing, communications and fundraising positions before joining Sail 4 Cancer. She started her career as a diplomat with the South African diplomatic service, also serving the Canadian foreign service for 7 years.

Oliver Thurlow

Oliver Thurlow is a Phd research student based at the University of Brighton. Oliver's role is to help the charity better understand the impact of its various respite programmes from a physiological and psychological perspective.

Trustee Team

Graham Precey (Chair of Trustees)

Brought up and educated in Brighton, Graham graduated with a first class honours degree from Brighton Business School. Graham is currently Head of Corporate Social Responsibility for FTSE 50 company Legal & General Group Plc. He also sits on the Board of the Foundation for Social Improvement which helps small charities to grow. Graham brings to the Charity an understanding of joint ventures and partnerships and he took on the role as Chair of Trustees in 2009. He is a keen sailor, cyclist and canoeist.

Chris Stone (Trustee)

A CIMA qualified accountant, Chris has held a variety of senior financial positions with a range of travel companies including Island Cruises and Virgin Holidays. He currently looks after Finance for a large utility company. Chris lives with his wife and son in Shoreham, West Sussex.

Sean Donovan (Trustee)
People / HR

Sean has a varied background covering the MOD, the Royal Navy and over 20 years working in the Financial Services Industry. He is co-director of his own company, Development Garden, which provides learning solutions for individuals, teams and corporations. Sean is passionate about helping people to grow and achieve whatever their goals maybe. An avid participant and watcher of sport he lives in East Sussex with his family.

Andrew Wilkinson (Trustee)

Andrew is a commercial lawyer by professional who helps the charity in various areas from partnerships to fundraising agreements. Andrew is a keen sailor and is originally from Melbourne in Australia.

Andy Hayward (Trustee)

After losing his dad to cancer, Andy decided to channel his grief into something positive. He has been raising funds to help other families affected by cancer ever since. Andy helps with fundraising, marketing and event management. A former competitive swimmer, Andy is also a keen cyclist and dinghy sailor (although not a very good one!)

Guy Wimpory

With a wealth of experience in the organisation of high profile marine events such as 'Festival Of The Sea', Guy helps the charity with all aspects of event planning from risk assesment and insurance to marketing and event delivery.
